TWISTED SISTER Frontman Accepts Plaque For Fundraising Efforts

Suffolk Life is reporting that TWISTED SISTER frontman and Brookhaven, NY resident Dee Snider recently accepted a plaque on behalf of his fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes from Brookhaven Town Supervisor John Jay LaValle and Annette Kosar, executive director of the L.I. Division of March of Dimes. Check out a photo at this location.

"I flew hundreds of miles to participate in this type of event [elsewhere in the US], when I thought, 'Why not have one right here on Long Island where I was born and raised?'" Snider told a standing-room-only crowd of about 400 residents.

Snider, who has four children of his own, spoke briefly about how funds raised for the March of Dimes are used for research in premature births and subsequent or related illnesses.

While "Dee Snider's Second Annual Biking for Babies" raised $50,000 in its second year, Snider is looking ahead to next year in anticipation of another, bigger ride that will hopefully raise more money for the organization. "I expect to have the biggest ride in the country, raising tens of thousands of dollars for the March of Dimes," Snider said of his continuing efforts.
